Services

We provide a range of services that respond to the needs of older people, dependent adults and children who are cared for at home in all areas of Northern Ireland. We also have services that support families and carers.

Our services are also available in the North Eastern area of the Republic of Ireland.

Extra Care provides a range of different services to people with varying levels of need and circumstance.

Intensive Domiciliary
Support Schemes designed to assist dependent people to either remain in their own home or to return home from hospital or residential care.

Dementia Services
Specialist services providing individual care plans to support people with dementia, and to provide respite for their families and carers.

Mobile Night Help Services
Designed to meet the needs of people who require short inputs of service during the night. The careworkers call at a pre-arranged time usually to assist the service user with personal care.

Rapid Response
A service that provides a swift response by providing short-term support and care in collaboration with existing services. Rapid Response is usually commissioned to provide care for periods of up to six weeks.

Family Carer Training Programme

Housing Support Services
Designed to provide a flexible, practical service to individuals to help them meet their housing needs and to live independently at home. Extra Care is accredited with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to provide floating support services. Click here to navigate to our page on the NIHE website.

Reablement Services
The ‘First Steps’ reablement project funded through the Big Lottery Fund and delivered in partnership with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, provides short term home support to the over 65 population living in the Down Lisburn areas, primarily to address social isolation experienced by a percentage of this client group.

Education and Training
An area with an important role in the range of services provided by Extra Care with comprehensive programmes of training delivered both in local venues and in our specifically designed training facilities in Antrim, Enniskillen and Drogheda.
