GROW is a World Mental Health organisation in existence since 1957. GROW in North of Ireland provides support to those with mental health issues within local communities.GROW promotes wellbeing through its 12th step recovery programme based on mutual support.GROW provides support to members through its unique Twelve Step, peer supported programme which is recovery focused. This is done through weekly, two hourly, structured meetings and an individualised personal development plan. Meetings take place in a confidential, safe, non-judgmental environment. Membership is for anyone over eighteen and members are either self or professionally referred. Meetings are free but a small voluntary donation may be made. GROW also looks at the area of prevention and on-going support. Additionally it provides educational programmes to the public, health professionals and other interested groups to raise public awareness around mental health issues and stigma attached to mental illness and suicide. It assists those who are particularly vulnerable, including those who have been hospitalised, who have attempted suicide or who experience suicidal thoughts. GROW in North Of Ireland‘s mission Is; ‘to empower people to achieve recovery, to live the life of their choice to its fullest potential. To advocate for justice, inclusion, full health rights, dignity of the person and reduction of stigma’.

Services

Meeting takes place every Monday except bank holidays in Ballybot House, 28 Cornmarket, Newry, from 2-00pm to 4-00 pm.
