Newry Maritime Association is a not for profit community interest organisation, with charity status, whose aim is to help revitalise the Newry Canal and its associated waterways and environs as usable public space that is sustainable, ie that it is beneficial to the public, the environment and that it is economically viable.

Our Mission: To realise the potential of Newry's waterways and environs for all who live, work and visit the areas to make them attractive and healthy and to celebrate the rich heritage through events, the built environment and through education.

Our Ethos: To protect, enhance and share the maritime assets of the Newry waterways.

Our Stakeholders: Local community groups, businesses and individuals who work, live and visit.

Forge In - farriery demonstrations

Presentations/Seminars

School Visits

Installations for heritage recognition (eg Fisher Park, blue plaques)

Maintenance of heritage sites (eg Victoria Lock)

Education and Promotion through facebook and website

Celebration of our history (eg Paupers' Graveyard)
