Project Ballynahinch

Project Ballynahinch

Project Ballynahinch was established in 2010 to deliver mental health and
well being services in County Down. In 2012 we opened Counselling premises.
We provide free counselling services for Adults and Young people. We work
with student placements, volunteer and sessional counsellors. Clients can
self refer or can be referred through other agencies.

Services

-------- WE OFFER TWO MAIN SERVICES:? ----------------------------------------

*1. "B Well" Resource Centre*

A drop-in, signposting facility which will point people towards the best
support and advice for their particular situation. We are one of a number of
such centres throughout Northern Ireland. We have at present trained
approximately thirty volunteers for this strand of the work.

All conversations are confidential with certain limitations (e.g. If you
disclose you are going to hurt yourself or another etc). With the generosity
of our volunteers we hope to expand our opening hours in the near future.

*2. Professional Counselling:*

For those 12 years and older. A safe, local, caring, confidential (with
limitations, see above) and professional counselling service enabling you to
talk through current/past life difficulties, with a view to gaining new
insights and direction.

Trained professional counsellors will be available to help with a range of
issues including bereavement, relationship problems, stress, anxiety, mild
depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and issues arising from "The
Troubles". The counsellors are all members of their professional bodies, ie
BACP/ACC etc, and are bound by/work to their Code of Ethics, including
receiving professional supervision for their clinical work. The counsellors
are either accredited or are actively working towards accreditation.

This service is provided free of charge.
