Sector Matters

NICVA set up Sector Matters in response to a need identified in the voluntary and community sector for cost-effective Human Resource, finance and related outsourced support services. The Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA) established Sector Matters in November 2009.

Who's it for?

Sector Matters is Northern Ireland’s first social enterprise providing quality business services to the voluntary and community sector and to small businesses.  Our services are for any of these organisations who need more time and resources to concentrate on their core business, and are looking for that extra support whether it is in HR, finance, management support, funding and funding applications or research.

What do I get?

Sector Matters can take away your day-to-day HR and finance hassles.  In terms of HR support, Sector Matters can become your in-house HR support, on a retainer basis, or offer a range of services on a one off basis, including:

  • HR Policy / Staff Handbook reviews
  • Recruitment Management
  • Employee Relations
  • Salary Benchmarking

Our financial services include:

  • Book keeping
  • Financial Management
  • Income and expenditure statements
  • Financial governance and advice

We also offer other support services including interim management, assistance with your funding applications, tender preparation and research services.

Following an initial assessment, which is free of charge, Sector Matters will agree a plan of action with you to meet the needs of your organisation. Based on this clients are issued with a consultancy agreement before work begins, quoting the number of working days anticipated to complete the job along with the agreed charge.

If you need help or advice on any of these areas, contact Sector Matters or call 028 9087 5018
