This advice note will answer the key question - how do I get charitable status for my group?
Many community groups are charitable in law because of their objects and activities. Formal recognition of a group's charitable status is given by the Inland Revenue. This guide looks at the advantages and disadvantages of charitable status and gives guidance on how to obtain it in seven steps.
