Code of good governance
The Code of Good Governance is intended to help and support management committees, executive committees, boards of directors, boards of trustees or any other type of governing body in the voluntary and community sector.
The voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland has recognised the need to have its own set of standards in governance. The Code sets out seven key principles, which demonstrate best practice in governance. These are not mandatory, but the Code has been endorsed by the new Charity commission for Northern Ireland.
