This month's round up

With the summer at an end this month's NICVA News focuses heavily on events, training and funding opportunities.

A recruitment drive is currently underway for the next round of the IFI Community Leadership programme and some other notable events to look out for this month include: Members Day on 16 October which offers you key skills in finance and HR, Managing Community Assets on 27 October, and Meeting the Charity Test - Demonstrating Public Benefit which will let you have a say on what 'public benefit' means.

On the training calendar, some courses not to be missed include Winning Contracts, Marketing your organisation and Train the trainers - check out the events and training pages for details.

Finally, with competition for funding on the increase, this month we bring you some top tips to making a better funding application on page 31 as well as the usual deadline listings to give you a chance to put these tips to the test.
