nicvanews March 2010
The March 2010 edition of nicvanews, which was mailed out to NICVA members on 19 February 2010.
This month’s round up
March brings an update to Sector Matters, NICVA’s new social economy business that can help you with costly and time consuming admin work. The company can now offer interim management and offline supervision alongside a package of HR and finance support.
The new Charity Register for Northern Ireland is due to go live in April, but the message is - don’t panic - as the Charity Commission will be issuing instructions on what it expects charities to do. Check out the policy page for details of Vital Links, a new policy project at NICVA supported by the PEACE III Programme managed by SEUPB.
The BBC’s popular Broadcast Appeals slot is up for grabs this month - get in by 15 March if you’d like to have your appeal featured on TV and radio - find out more on page 3.
The Bill of Rights consultation ends on 1 March (this has since been extended to 31 March), so time is running out to have your say. See page 4 for detail on the online petition.
NICVA’s training calendar is now in full swing - check out the events and training pages to see what’s coming up this month. Look out too for the next NICVA members’ day which will help you get the most from your IT. See enclosed brochure and page 8 for details.
As usual we bring you a raft of funding opportunities and we also welcome our latest members on page 18. Why not send us a profile of your organisation for our occasional ‘featured member’ slot?
Finally, thank you for all the positive feedback on the new format of nicvanews - it is much appreciated!
