nicvanews November 2011
November's round up of news, events, training, funding and publications for NICVA members.
This month’s issue finds NICVA in a reflective mood with the Annual General Meeting offering an opportunity to look back at the opportunities and challenges of the past year and the work carried out by staff. A report from the AGM is on p7 with the details of the Executive Committee. The Community Leadership Programme reports on the reflections of year one groups on the impact the programme has had, while the CollaborationNI project looks at the impact of the late Steve Jobs and how collaboration played a part in his success.
As ever at NICVA though, we don’t look back for very long, and we have plenty to look forward to in the next few weeks and months. With events such as the visit of DCAL’s Minister, the ‘Creating the good economy’ conference and CEE’s gender budgeting masterclass all coming up in November, make sure you don’t miss any of the action.
Finally, take some time to read the feature article from Include Youth on the Pathways to Success (NEET) Strategy on p9-10, the policy update on another important issue - the Welfare Reform Bill on p21-22, and the sound advice offered by Sector Matters on p5 on the areas you should review NOW to make sure your organisation is on the right track.
