Consultancy
NICVA has a wide and diverse range of services available to the sector, including governance, training, ICT, research and funding. In each of these areas, the respective teams offer consultancy services, in support of the other resources available such as publications, events and online resources.
Training
As well as the scheduled training, NICVA can offer bespoke training courses and programmes for individual organisations. This training is delivered by specialists in the field and is tailored to the organisation's needs and can be delivered at a location of your choice.
NICVA's areas of expertise include: fundraising (for example, A strategic approach to fundraising or Practical skills in making funding applications), governance (for example, Committees and Trustee responsibilities or Charitable status and charity law reform update), recruitment and selection, media training, management training (accreditation available with Institute of Leadership Management) and policy training (lobbying and campaigning etc).
Provision of this training is dependent on capacity and availability of staff to deliver at time of request. For more information, contact the skills development team on 028 9087 7777.
Governance
NICVA has developed a governance review mechanism to help organisations ensure that they are well governed. Each governance review will include an in depth assessment of the governance of your organisation, the preparation of a report, and one to one advice and evaluation.
Governance reviews are currently only available to community groups which have been awarded a place under the Community Leadership Programme.
