NICVA has a wide range of training on offer for staff, volunteers and board members in the voluntary and community sector. The new dates for the Autumn are now online.

Whether you are a manager, trainer,  fundraiser, trustee, project worker, team leader, or whatever role you play in your organisation we have training to suit you. If you don't see the training you need listed then please get in touch with me and we'll see what we can do for you.

We are kicking the new season of training off with The Power of the case study session delivered by Sarah Travers on 17 August. This session will help you tell your story more effectively and write your case studies in a way that will grab people's attention. If you want to create well-crafted press releases that build credibility and raise your charity's profile book for our How to write an effective press release training with Scope Editor, Nick Garbutt. In October we are pleased to offer the interactive Managing the Media course again in person. Finally in November we are offering a session on Managing the media in a crisis to help your charity manage the fall-out from a crisis before it happens.

Trustees Series

We have a number of training sessions designed for trustees and committee members. Our Governance for new and nearly new trustees has been very popular this year so far and gives a good overview of what you need to know to ensure your organisation is governed and led effectively. Being an effective chair is a useful session for all those who hold this important role, it covers what makes a good chair as well as how to chair meetings well. The risk assessment made easy training in September is a practical session that will show you how to carry out a risk assessment and write an action plan. We have a new session for trustees, treasurers, senior staff -  Financial reporting to the board this will cover all the finance issues that the board should be considering and how to be more engaged in discussions around finance.

Accredited training

Our accredited training is going from strength to strength and is proving as popular as ever online.  We are an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) approved centre and our recent external verifier reports from both ILM and TQUK have been excellent proving robust quality assurance systems. Our training ranges from level 3 to level 7 so there really is something for everyone, whether you are a first line manager or CEO/senior manager or anything in between, do have a look.
