Christmas Food Drive – Donations needed
NICVA are participating as a collection point for a North Belfast food bank to help local people in food crisis.
Ligoniel Improvement Association have launched their Christmas Food Drive in partnership with the North Belfast Advice Partnership and are asking people to donate items from the list below to help fight local hunger.
Demand on the food bank is getting bigger as the colder weather sets in and the cost of heating/lighting is increasing. Low income families are in need over the Christmas period so please donate what you can.
Items to donate:
- Rice/pasta/noodles
- Jar of sauces
- Soups
- Jams
- Tea/ Coffee / Sugar
- Biscuits / Chocolates
- Desserts
- Tins of peas / carrots / beans
- Tined fruit / custard / jelly
- Diluted juice
- Cereal
- Tins of meat / Fish
- Long life milk
Toiletries:
- Washing liquid
- Washing powder
- Nappies
- Baby wipes
- Talcum powder
- Baby shampoo
Vouchers:
- £5 vouchers for Asda/Tesco – as this allows people to purchase milk and bread, potatoes etc.
Donations of food and toiletries can be left in NICVA’s Reception area or any of the other collection points: Ligoniel Improvement Associationl, PIPS Charity, Vine Centre, Ardoyne Association and Ballysillan Community Forum.
