Rathcoole Churches Community Group (RCCG) is a long established charity, working to develop and promote Rathcoole since 1983.

The charity was originally set-up by the four main churches within Rathcoole in response to a recognised need to promote economic development and improve employability within the local community.

In 1999, RCCG opened the Dunanney Centre. The centre is well known within Rathcoole, and the wider Newtownabbey area and is the recognisable face of RCCG.

The centre provides affordable conference, meeting and training facilities for events of all sizes. The Centre has rooms which cater for groups of 5 to 80, depending on your needs.

The centre delivers a wide range of community services and hosts a number of other organisations who work to improve the lives of local residents. These include Abbey Surestart, Early Years, Newtownabbey CAB, Bryson Future Skills and Rathcoole Friends of the Somme. The centre currently has a number of smaller offices available for rent. The number and range of busy services based within the centre provides an excellent environment for a local presence for your organisation within Newtownabbey.

The Centre itself also delivers a wide range of programmes. Current programmes include personal development for parents, physical and mental health promotion, good relations and access to employment.

RCCG are particularly proud of THEIR young people’s employment programme - ‘We’re the Business’. The programme works with young unemployed people providing personal development, mentoring and the opportunity to experience running a business. Following market research, business planning and fundraising, the group set-up a milkshake bar ‘Coole Shakes’ in October 2014. Coole Shakes provides a neutral space for young people to meet, as well as enjoy a delicious milkshake or hot chocolate.

If you are interested in using the centre for your event or exploring the potential of our office accommodation, RCCG would be delighted to meet with you.
