Funding cuts to sector feature on Hearts and Minds
Award winning journalist Julia Paul presented a package on cuts to the voluntary and community sector on the BBC programme Hearts and Minds
Homestart offered a great case study of the work of the sector and the life changing impact voluntary and community organisations have on the people, families and communities they work with. Speaking on the programme NICVA Chief Executive Seamus McAleavey warned that voluntary and community organisations should be treated fairly and budget holders in government should not seek to find savings by cutting services simply because they are delivered by someone else.
