Google Digital Garage Event Summary
On 27 September 2019 NICVA facilitated a Google Digital Garage seminar offering the sector free training in digital skills.
NICVA is committed to equipping the voluntarily and community sector to adapt to change in an increasingly digital world and helping those at the front line of this change become more digitally resilient and effective.
We were delighted to have Emma Gribben from UpSkill Digital delivering the three-part seminar to over 75 individuals representing organisations from across the sector, with everything from senior managers, communication officers and volunteers in the room all able to take valuable information from the seminar.
The Digital Garage focused on 3 parts:
- Building a Digital Marketing Plan
- Developing a Social Media Strategy
- How to Write for Social Media
The recurring theme throughout the day was the need for voluntary and community sector organisations to use existing tools and platforms to better reach service users, members and organisations to limit the cost to organisations in the sector, as well as keeping your audience at the forefront of all your digital planning.
It was a fantastic event and I learnt alot about engaging with people on social media to raise awareness of our organisation. I would really recommend it. Trása Canavan, Barnardos NI
