Holocaust Memorial Day 2019 – Belfast City Hall, 24 January

Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Each year, Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place on 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.

As part of International Holocaust Memorial Day 2019, the regional Northern Ireland commemoration will take place at Belfast City Hall at 7pm on Thursday 24 January 2019 and will be hosted by the Executive Office.

On Holocaust Memorial Day we remember and honour those communities which were destroyed in the Holocaust. HMD 2019 will also include marking the 25th anniversary of the Genocide in Rwanda, which began in April 1994 and the 40th anniversary of the end of the Genocide in Cambodia, which ended in 1979

The public are cordially invited to attend the commemoration, and anyone interested must RSVP by contacting [email protected] as soon as possible, so that your place(s) can be reserved. Tickets are free of charge and family, friends and colleagues are welcome (please specify in email).
