Human Resources Manager (maternity cover) HRM'22 - Closing Date Extended

In this varied, standalone role, NICVA's HR Manager has responsibility for implementing the HR strategy and providing HR advice to sectoral organisations. NB: This post is a readvertisement with amended criteria.

About the role:

Status of Post: Fixed term maternity cover contract, approximately 10-11 months. Part-time, minimum 21 up to a maximum of 28 hours per week (actual hours will be agreed with successful candidate)
Salary: Salary equivalent to NJC points 32-34 (£35,745 - £37,890 p.a.) pro rata
Location of post:  The normal place of work is the NICVA building however at present all staff who can work from home, continue to do so in line with the NI Executive guidance and this role is included in that. We are currently developing our approach to where we work to include a blend of in NICVA and at home working.  
Closing date: Monday 10 January 2022 at 12noon

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To manage NICVA’s HR function and implement the HR strategy.
  • ​To provide advice and guidance to NICVA managers on employee relations matters and be responsible for the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice.
  • To draft and implement new HR policies in line with current best practice.
  • To provide advice, guidance and training to VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) sector organisations on a wide range of HR topics.
  • ​To lead on the implementation and review of ongoing HR initiatives/projects/polices such as:
    - the pilot approach to Blended working
    diversity and inclusion
    health and safety
  • To line manage the conference facilities team supporting them to provide excellent customer service to NICVA staff, tenants, visitors and users of the conference facilities including overseeing all health and safety matters.
