Important changes to Payroll Legislation 6 April 2013
From April, all voluntary organisations will have to adjust how they manage their payroll due to the introduction of Real Time Information (RTI).
You’ll soon receive a letter from HMRC telling you that you must start reporting to them in real time. This letter will advise you to contact your software provider to confirm that the product, or service, you use has been updated so you can submit your PAYE in real time (RTI).
The introduction of RTI will mean that information has to be submitted electronically to HMRC every time payroll is run rather than just at year-end.
This means that you may need to collect some additional information from new employees, as well as retrospectively for existing employees.
