In it together

I was delighted to catch a few minutes with Barry Monteith to have a chat about the amazing efforts of people in the Dungannon area who are rallying around supporting and encouraging their friends and neighbours.

Barry who sits as an Independent Councillor on Mid Ulster District Council discussed with me how the local clubs got together and action-planned an immediate response to the needs of their community.  Barry is very active on facebook sharing the work of the local clubs who are distributing food parcels to the most vulnerable, calling out for support for foodbanks and providing PPE to local nurses, care facilities and families.  His passion is people and his work is undeniable in sharing council information and supporting individuals and communities to deal with the ongoing crisis of flytipping for example and signposting people to local services providing free counselling and a listening ear.
