Introducing our training calendar for the new year

17 Jan 2020 Roisin Kelly    Last updated: 23 Jan 2020

Our 2020 training calendar is ready and designed in response to feedback from previous participants and to meet the challenges facing our sector.

Our training courses are aimed at improving your effectiveness in the workplace and each course is updated regularly. We continue to deliver a wide range of subjects in the areas of governance, fundraising, policy, HR, management and communication and we have an exciting series especially designed for Trustees—the charity trustee training series.

We continue to offer the ever popular ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management and the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring. Following on from the success of the ILM level 7 Award in Leadership and Management we will again offer this later in the year.

We are keen to continue to offer our level 3 accredited programmes and what is exciting about this level is learners can choose from what is already on offer to add courses together to achieve an ILM level 3 award. So for example, learners can undertake the Managing Staff session along with Managing Workplace Projects and on completion of two assignments achieve a Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management.

The choice is almost endless as you can also choose from a variety of subjects that you feel most suit the demands of your role.

Don't forget we also host lunchtime webinars for members. These one-hour condensed sessions are free, and hopefully encourage participants to want to learn more and find out more about the topic of their choice. Topics range from lone working to managing conflict and motivating staff in the workplace.

We also continue to offer the ever popular ILM Level 3 Award in Management of Volunteers in partnership with VolunteerNOW, who we are delighted to have been working with over the last number of years.

An exciting addition to our calendar this year comes from Sarah Travers from Bespoke Communications as well as our really good interactive session on video storytelling with Chris Eva. You can hear Sarah on vimeo giving us some details on the additions to our Communications package—The Power of the Case Study and Persuasive Presenting.

NICVA training gives you the opportunity to network with and learn from others in the voluntary and community sector and all of our training sessions allow time for practical activities and group discussion. The training is designed specifically for people working in the sector and is excellent value for money. All of our courses are also available on a bespoke basis at a time and place that best suits you.

NICVA members can benefit from 30% reduction in all our course fees – saving you up to £300!  You can find out more about becoming a NICVA member here.
