Local Community Pharmacy Volunteer Programme offers guidance and support
The Community Development Health Network (CDHN) is providing guidance and support to groups offering volunteering support to community pharmacies
The Community Pharmacy strand of the Emergencies Leadership Group, led by the Community Development Health Network (CDHN), has now issued guidance agreed with the Department of Health for organisations providing volunteers help with the distribution of medicines in local communities and managing vistors to local pharmacies.
The guidance (see attachments) provides details on how to volunteer safely and asks groups wanting to become involved in the Community Pharmacy scheme to register with CDHN. CDHN is also keen for any groups that have established their own local volunteer support services at local pharmacies to get in touch with them, so that they are fully aware of what services are happening where and can also offer them advice and support.
