September is approaching, we are thinking about “back to school” - are you thinking about your own learning and development needs in the next few months?

We continue to offer a wide range of training courses for board members, volunteers and staff in the voluntary and community sector. The good news for NICVA members is that they get 30% off all training including our accredited programmes and bespoke training, with savings of up to £500 per person

FREE NICVA member webinars

We have free members' webinars planned every month on a range of topics, including Lone working, Motivation in the workplace and Conflict management. Our webinars can be accessed anywhere – at home, at work - so long as you have a laptop, tablet, phone or desk top computer you can join us for the training session. This saves time traveling to training and means less downtime. The webinars are one hour long and give you practical tips and techniques to improve your practice as well as links to valuable resources that you can follow up.

Accredited training

We are delighted to be starting our very first ILM level 7 Award in Leadership and Management in September for senior leaders in the sector. We have also refreshed and updated our ILM level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management to include guest speakers and leaders from across the sector at each session. We are excited about offering the new ILM Effective Coaching and Mentoring Level 5 Certificate – and maybe you will be one of the first to gain this new improved qualification. NICVA is the only centre in NI to offer the ILM level 3 in management of volunteers in partnership with Volunteer NOW so if you management/support volunteers you might want to sign up for that one. And our TQUK level 3 Award in Education and Training goes from strength to strength and participants report how it has really improved their training design and delivery.

Human Resources

Our HR training series is back for those that manage staff, to increase your knowledge and skills in recruitment and selection, absence management, and managing staff. The sessions give you the opportunity to discuss real issues and find practical solutions and techniques to improve your practice and help you to support your staff and manage performance.

Communications

Our Communications training delivered by experts in the field, in partnership with Bespoke Communications is consistently booked out and gets fantastic feedback. So don't delay in booking your place on -  Managing the Media with Sarah Travers, Video storytelling and Social Media for impact. This training helps you to get your message across and would be of interest to those NICVA members who are part of Media Connect.

So if you are interested in a training session for your trustees please contact [email protected] to discuss what you need. We also have our half day session Risk assessment made easy on our training calendar.
