NICVA Marathon Team (L-R)Denise, Louise, Siobhan, Bob, Laura, Sandra, Roisin

This Sunday, two relay teams from NICVA (and friends) will be pounding the streets of Belfast in an effort to raise funds for Sunshine Foundation Romania.

The teams are delighted to be running on this new route which starts at Stormont this year and for the first time on a Sunday which means they can enjoy bank holiday Monday like everyone else.

They are raising funds for Sunshine Foundation Romania, a small charity from here that is making a big difference to the children and young people that it supports in Brasov county in Romania.  Best of luck to Laura, Louise, Sandra, Stephen, Roisin, Paula, Caroline, Denise, Siobhan and Bob...if you see them along the route, give them a cheer!

Hundreds of charities are being supported by runners and walkers taking part in the Belfast City Marathon.  If you haven't had a chance to sponsor someone and would like to give a charitable donation this bank holiday weekend then please consider donating to our team at the following link  https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraiser/fundraiser-search-results.html?charityId=52769&eventInstanceId=490894

The charity has been using BT's MyDonate online fundraising platform for the last seven years because of its minimal charges.  Sadly BT is closing this online fundraising platform at the end of June but the charity is in the process of signing up with a new online fundraising platform, Wonderful, which doesn't charge any processing or service charges to charities, unlike some other providers.  If you would like to know more about the fees and charges of different online fundraising platforms then please see the following article by Money Saving Expert.

Good luck to all the participants and to all the charities that will be supported from this great event.
