Me, You and Them

Glena McDowell-Khan took some time out of a hectic schedule to chat about the work of Me, You and Them - a Dungannon based charity which began in January 2020.

In this interview, Glena McDowell- Khan tells us how the Dungannon based Charity is responding to the developing needs in the Community.  Central to the current work of the charity is the making and delivery of meals for anyone in need in the Mid Ulster area.  The charity also recently launched a Befriending Service online having received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund Northern Ireland.  Referrals come in all shapes and sizes and the charity is responding on a daily basis with 8-10 volunteers on hand every day.  A key project for the charity is their "Going back to My Roots", programme funded by Comic Relief.  The aim of the programme is to get families cooking together.  After families receive their packs, menus and instructions are posted on their facebook page and children are encouraged by their parents and carers to grow vegetables and to cook together.
