New rates set for 2014 – 2015 statutory payments

The Department for Work and Pensions has set new rates for statutory sick pay (SSP) and statutory maternity pay (SMP) for 2014 – 2015.

These new rates take effect on 6 April 2014 and are as follows:

  • statutory sick pay (SSP) increases from £86.70 to £87.55
  • statutory maternity pay (SMP) increases from £136.78 to £138.18 (for statutory paternity and adoption payments, this figure also applies)
