Reaching Out: Connecting Older People grant holders
NICVA held its second grant holders information session on Monday 21 November, for another five groups who have awarded grants from the Big Lottery fund’s Reaching Out: Connecting Older People programme.
The aim of these sessions is to let grant holders know about the types of support and development available to each of their groups under the grant. The five most recent groups funded are:
- Mind Wise New Vision
- Positive Futures for People with a Learning Disability
- Engage With Age
- Upper Andersonstown Community Forum Ltd
- Alzheimer's Society
The Reaching Out: Connecting Older People Programme
The Reaching Out: Connecting Older People Programme is still open for applications until 2012. The programme funds projects that enable older people at risk to lead full, connected lives as valued members of their community.
The programme supports projects that focus on older people aged 60 and over; last from 3-5 years; target older people at greatest risk of exclusion and/or isolation; and involve older people in designing and managing the project.
Big Lottery Fund has also put in place a development and support programme, delivered by NICVA, to support and build the capacity of grant holders to ensure their projects and outcomes are effective.
