Review 2011: Developing and informing the sector

The NICVA Charity Advice team and our partners in the Developing Governance Group joined the NI Charity Commission to host six Good Governance road shows across NI.

Next: Supporting a changing sector

As 43 groups were recruited for the third and final year of the Community Leadership Programme, 27 local community organisations gathered to mark their successful participation in year two of the programme. NICVA training provided people with the skills to focus on getting back to business in their organisations in areas such as communication, governance, fundraising and leadership

NICVA’s public affairs project, Vital Links, launched a training course for political activists, public sector workers and Council officials.  Get to Know the Sector increases knowledge of the community and voluntary sector amongst key decision makers and encourages greater collaboration.

New publications for 2011 included  Salary Survey, Individual Giving in NI, Winding Up and Dissolving an Organisation and all 14 Charity Advice Notes were reviewed and updated.
