The Social Enterprise Awards Northern Ireland 2012 are open now for entries and will be taking place at Belfast Castle on Thursday 11 October 2012. Here are the full details and information on how to apply.

The Awards highlight and promote excellence in the social economy sector across Northern Ireland.  Winners of categories 1-5 will also progress to a UK wide award ceremony to be held in London on 14 November 2012, coinciding with Social Enterprise Day. This is a unique opportunity for our local social enterprises to benchmark themselves against the best in Northern Ireland and England, Scotland and Wales. 

The 2011 awards saw two local entrants awarded both the overall Social Enterprise of the Year and the Social Enterprise Leader of the Year at the nationwide event.

There are 8 categories open to social enterprises and individuals in Northern Ireland.  

Category 1 - Social Enterprise Leader

Category 2 - Start-Up Social Enterprise

Category 3 - UK Social Enterprise (Northern Ireland)

Category 4 - Social Enterprise Supporter

Category 5 - Youth-Led Social Enterprise

Northern Ireland only:

Category 6 - Best new product/service

Category 7 - Rural Social Enterprise of the year

Category 8 - Social Enterprise: Regeneration Award

Applications are now open with a deadline of 12 Noon Friday 7 September 2012 for completed applications.
