Spring Covid-19 Booster Programme - How sector organisations can help

On 9th May, NICVA hosted an information and Q&A session with the Public Health Agency on the spring Covid-19 vaccine booster programme and how community & voluntary organisations can encourage take up

The spring booster vaccine will help to prolong protection already received from initial COVID vaccinations, ahead of any potential wave of COVID-19 over the summer months. This year’s spring booster will be offered to:

  • Residents in a care home

  • Adults aged 75 years and over

  • Individuals aged 5 years and over who are immunosuppressed

The vaccines are being rolled out to eligible groups via GPs, community pharmacies and HSC Trusts.  The Public Health Agency (PHA) would urge everyone who falls into an eligible group to take up the offer of free vaccination.  Further details on the programme can be found in the attached slides and any questions you have about the programme can be sent to the PHA at [email protected]  NICVA hopes to run another information and Q&A session later in the year.
