Training for Autumn 2022

We have a wide range of training planned for our Autumn term in NICVA, from accredited training to webinars on topics such as: Leadership, Coaching, Governance, Training and Human Resources.

We will continue to deliver most of our training online based on what you have told us during training sessions and in our recent members' survey. Some of our accredited courses will be delivered with a mix of online and in-person and our ILM level 7 Award will be delivered in person so we are looking forward to that. We will continue to add to our calendar for the Autumn over the next few weeks so keep an eye on enews and the website for updates.

Accredited training

Our ILM and TQUK courses go from strength to strength with excellent feedback from learners commenting on the supportive environment and how practical and interactive the courses are.

ILM level 7 Award in Leadership and Management - This course is for senior leaders in the sector and is a great opportunity to learn, relfect, analyse and plan and of course connect with other senior leaders and support each other. Delivered in person in NICVA

ILM level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management - This course is for middle to senior managers in the sector. It will give you the practical tools and techniques to improve your management and leadership skills and confidence. Half of sessions delivered in person and half online.

ILM level 3 Award in Leadership and Management - This course is for new and first line managers. It will help you develop your skills and confidence as a manager and is delivered online and through self-study.

ILM level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring - This course is for those who wish to introduce or improve their coaching and mentoring practice and skills in the workplace. It is delivered as 3 online sessions and 2 in person sessions.

TQUK level 3 Award in Education and Training - This course is an introductory teaching qualification and prepares you to teach and train in a wide range of contexts. It also gives formal recogition to those who have been trainers for some time. It is delivered online and through self study.


Trustee Annual reporting - This 1.5 hour online session is for trustees and will give an overview of the annual reporting and associated reports and accounts that are required.

Governance for new and nearly new trustees - This 2 hour online session is for trustees who want to improve their knowledge of governance and best practice.

Human Resources

Recruitment and Selection - This 3 hour online session is for those who recruit and select staff, or plan to. It will cover legislation, job descriptions and person specs, shortlisting and interviews.
