Trustees Week 2017

Trustees’ Week 2017 takes place during 13-17 November this year to celebrate trusteeship, inspire and inform existing trustees and invite people to use their skills and experience in a role that supports important causes.

Part of the focus of this week is dedicated to celebrating the magnificent work that Trustees do for charities so why not dedicate some time this week to thinking about how your Trustees can be supported to carrying out their roles effectively.

A good first port of call is the Code of Good Governance and its accompanying online resource   The Code sets out the five key principles together with the most important supporting characteristics which will help Trustees to understand their role and the responsibilities of the board.

NICVA’s governance and charity advice service is also on hand to answer your governance queries, help you with the charity registration process, arrange bespoke governance training for your board or review your governing documents. There’s still some places available on our ‘Governance for new and nearly new trustees’ training on 14 November.

For a full range of services provided by the governance and charity advice team please see our webpage

Trustees’ Week also encourages businesses to consider how supporting trustees can have huge rewards for their organisations and employees.  For more information visit's picture
