The value of investing in your managers

By investing in training, organisations will find that skilling their managers and developing their existing expertise delivers long term efficiency savings, helps achieve outcomes and bridges the gaps created by job cuts and downsizing. Despite

NICVA has developed a brand new course - Understanding Performance Management - to help managers manage their staff and support them to reach their potential and achieve their outcomes. Especially in the current climate, managers need to support and motivate their staff, encourage them to perform well and help them deal with any issues of poor performance.
By understanding the range of management styles managers can learn how this can impact staff and their performance. There are still a few places left on this course which starts on 11 May.

Sandra Bailie, Head of Organisational Development in NICVA commented:

“NICVA has developed Understanding Performance Management in response to needs we identified in the sector. We are not just providing training on how to run a supervision session; this programme is going to address the fact that it's what happens day to day that is important.  This new course focuses on managing as a process that is ongoing and works towards high performance from all staff.”

She continued:

“The added bonus is that it is accredited by Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).”

Understanding Performance Management is a two-day course accredited through ILM. Successful completion will provide you with a level 3 Award in Effective Management. It is being held in NICVA on 11 and 25 May from 10.00am-4.00pm. The cost is £230 for members and £330 for non-members and this includes ILM registration and accreditation fees as well as lunch.
