8 November 2022 -
4:00pm to 5:00pm

In collaboration with the Association of Charity Independent Examiners (ACIE), this is a special event as part of Trustees' Week to help charity trustees gain a better understanding on the requirements for the independent examination of their annual accounts. NICVA will also officially launch two more online finance tutorial videos at this event.

Trustees' Week

Independent examination is still a relatively new form of external scrutiny for some charities in Northern Ireland. The charity trustees have a responsibility to ensure the examiner has the required skills and experience to carry out an independent examination of their charity. The skills and experience required will depend on the turnover of your charity.

In this short session Tony Clarke, Trustee of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners (ACIE) and a practicing independent examiner will explain what an independent examination is, what to look for in an independent examination and when charities may avail of this option.

Topics covered:

  • What is an independent examination
  • Can my charity have an independent examination
  • What to look for in an independent examiner
  • Annual Monitoring requirements with CCNI
