This one-hour session is part of the Digital Fundraising webinar series 2021. This series is exclusive to NICVA members. It will be delivered by Paul Winyard and Joanne Mc Dowell from the Fundraising Regulator. It is for organisations who are starting out on their journey of online donations or who want to make sure they are following fundraising best practice.


Paul Winyard is Policy Manager at the Fundraising Regulator and previously worked at NCVO

Joanne McDowell is the NI Manager at the Fundraising Regulator and previously worked at Big Lottery Fund.  

Online fundraising was the most complained about method of fundraising during the height of the pandemic, according to the Fundraising Regulator’s latest Annual Complaints Report. Complaints about online fundraising to the Fundraising Regulator saw a 252% increase on the figure reported in the previous year. 

This session will cover through a presentation and Q&A session Paul and Joanne will share their thoughts and insights into:

  • Fundraising Regulation
  • The Code of Fundraising Practice
  • Recent learning related to online and cashless giving
