12 October 2023 -
11:00am to 12:30pm

This 1.5 hour online session is part of a series of free Data workshops running in October. It is delivered by ICO staff and is for staff and board members from voluntary and community organisations who want to learn more about how they use and manage their data following best practice and complying with legislation.

The content for this session is based on feedback ICO and NICVA received from those attending the Meet the Information Commissioner event on 2 August. It is designed for staff and board members who want to improve how they manage their organisational data and increase their knowledge of data protection issues. It will be delivered by ICO staff from Northern Ireland.

This session will cover

  • How to write a privacy notice and what you should include in it.
  • What methods can be used to provide privacy information?
  • What to consider when responding to a request for personal information (SAR).
  • How to supply information to a requester.
  • When can a request be refused.
