Democracy Club SoPN Party

Come along to help crowdsource candidate data for the local government elections.

Democracy Club aims to build a digital public database of all election candidates.

The state doesn’t provide this. We need such a database to build tools to help voters.

The database is crowdsourced from thousands of users. Those users can find information on candidates from twitter, facebook, local news, candidates themselves.

Ultimately, the data needs to be checked against the official Statements of Persons Nominated: SoPNs. This requires a good amount of human help! That's where you come in.

We need your help check who's standing for local election in Northern Ireland, what ward, council area and party they're standing for, and what else would be useful to know about the candidates.

To make it a bit more sociable / competitive / fun, we get people together in a room to go through as many as possible. Bring along your laptop, and we'll provide the food and drinks.
