Facilitating Partnerships for Community Based Research

19 February 2019 -
3:00pm to 4:30pm

NICVA and the Research and Enterprise Directorate at Queen’s University would like to invite colleagues to join us to explore practical solutions to facilitate community based research at 3pm on Tuesday 19th of February 2019.

We are delighted that we will be joined by Professor Budd Hall from the University of Victoria in Canada who will share thoughts on his role of UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education. We will also hear from Dr Helena Mc Elhinney, Research Officer at NICVA on the role of NICVA in facilitating research collaborations with the voluntary and community sector. Professor Paul Connolly, Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise at Queen’s will introduce the recently launched Queen’s University Engaged Research Action Plan, highlighting the key role that partnership and collaboration with external partners plays in developing high quality and impactful academic research.

Talks will be followed by a networking session where we will work to identify mutual research priorities and explore practical suggestions for establishing partnerships that encourage research which supports the aims and work of voluntary and community organisations.

We hope that you will join us from 3:00pm – 4:30pm at the Crescent Arts Centre on 19th of February 2019.

Tickets are limited and will be shared between NICVA partners and Queen’s University staff and students. Please follow the link below to register and ensure that you choose the appropriate ticket type when booking.
