FULLY BOOKED ILM level 3 Award in Management of Volunteers (East Belfast)

This 2 day course is part of the East Belfast Community Capacity and Leadership Programme. It is designed for those who manage volunteers and would like to increase their skills and network with others.

Would you like to improve how you manage your volunteers? Would you like advice on developing volunteer agreements as well as how to support and motivate volunteers? This two day course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to manage your volunteers more effectively. It has been designed specifically for our sector by NICVA and Volunteer Now and provides you with a recognised ILM qualification.


This course is for people who manage volunteers and would like to improve their skills and knowledge in writing volunteer agreements and supervising and supporting volunteers.

2 days training on Wednesday 20 March and Thursday 4 April 2019 from 10.00am - 4.00pm in East Belfast Network Centre, Belfast. Refreshments and lunch are included on both days.

20 March 2019 - Managing volunteer agreements will include:

  • Difference between a volunteer and member of staff
  • Difference between a volunteer agreement and contract of employment
  • Good Practice in the recruitment of volunteers
  • Good practice in developing volunteer agreements

4 April 2019 - Supervising and supporting volunteers will include:

  • Development of volunteers
  • Providing effective support to volunteers
  • Evaluating and celebrating achievements
  • How to communicate and exchange feedback

To achieve the ILM level 3 Award in management of volunteers you will need to submit two assignments on the topics above.
