ILM Level 3 Award in Management of Volunteers - online

This course over 4 sessions is for people who manage volunteers and would like to improve their skills and knowledge in writing volunteer policy and involving and supporting volunteers.

Would you like to improve how you involve volunteers? Would you like advice on developing volunteer policy as well as how to support and motivate volunteers? This course over 2 dates will provide you with the knowledge and skills to manage your volunteers more effectively. It has been designed specifically for our sector by Volunteer Now and NICVA and provides you with a recognised ILM qualification.

The induction on 16 January 2024 and three sessions on 6, 13 and 20 February 2024 from 10.00am – 1.00pm. The sessions will be delivered online via the Zoom platform.

16 January 2024 - Induction 10am-10.45am

6 February 2024 - Managing volunteer agreements (delivered by Volunteer Now):

In the current volunteering environment, following the pandemic and during a cost of living crisis, it is more important than ever to ensure good practice when involving volunteers, during this short session we will together learn and describe what the key differences are between an employee and a volunteer, ensure that your organisation produces volunteer agreements and not contacts of employment, look in detail at good practice in the recruitment process for volunteers, including how to do this digitally and describe good practice when developing volunteer agreements.

13 February 2024- Supervising and supporting volunteers (delivered by Volunteer Now):

We have been facing new challenges as we supervise and support our volunteers. This session will describe how you can provide effective support to volunteers, develop their skills, motivate them, celebrate achievements and communicate feedback.  We will look at both face to face and online options for support and consider the benefits and challenges of each. There will be opportunities for sharing experiences and discussing issues together.

20 February 2024 – Assignment support session (delivered by NICVA)

This session will outline the assignments to achieve the ILM qualification and allow time for discussion and prepare candidates to complete the assignments.

Learners will be given self-study materials and resources to read in their own time.

Accreditation

To achieve the ILM Level 3 Award in Management of Volunteers you will need to submit two assignments on the topics above.

Three sessions with the accreditation which is a total of £350 for members and £500 non members. This includes training sessions, self study materials, assignment support, marking assignments, ILM registration, IQA, ILM certification.

If you do not wish to achieve the qualification it is £165 members and £240
