Introduction to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

This 2-hour introductory session will give you a brief overview of what you need to consider for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the workplace. It is delivered by Join Her.

This is an interactive online session that will introduce you to EDI and outline ways to make a difference in your organisation. It is delivered by Lori Gatsi-Barnett from JoinHer Network, a NICVA member.


This 2-hour online session will be delivered by JoinHer Network. JoinHer Network is an open and impartial network that focuses on making positive impact in the community centred around inclusive and equitable practice. They provide accredited training, organise events and encourage networking and collaboration.

For each of the four areas of Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Equity the session will cover the following:

  • Understanding – Who can make a difference?
  • Identifying – When making a difference counts?
  • Expressing – Where to make a difference?
  • Actioning – How to make a difference?


This session is aimed at those in the voluntary and community sector wanting to understand more about EDI and is pitched at an introductory level for those at the start of their journey.

Facilitator Bio

Lori Gatsi-Barnett has a Masters in business and is an experienced director with demonstrated history of working in the corporate and voluntary sectors. She is skilled in advertising, marketing strategies, and is a business & motivational speaker. She has lived and worked across diverse cultures and countries, and believes that the richness of variety within diversity demands change from us collectively to become the examples of a community transformed and strengthened by us sharing a vision of a brighter tomorrow.
