18 May 2022 - 10:30am to 22 June 2022 - 12:30pm

This ever popular course returns online. The TQUK Level 3 Award is designed to support you in improving your training practice and confidence in both virtual and 'real' spaces. The course is for anyone who currently teaches or trains as part of their role. The course is also invaluable to those aspiring to teach and train. This is an introductory teaching qualification, which prepares learners for teaching and training in a wide range of contexts and provides formal recognition for those who already have skills in teaching and training.

This course is delivered with accessible online resources that are available for study at a flexible time that is convenient for participants, blended with live, interactive workshops that provide an opportunity to discuss the content and exchange ideas with peers. A recent EQA visit stated that our feedback to learners was 'positive and constructive' and individual support is available throughout the course.

Induction information will be recorded and sent to participants prior to the first session.

Live workshops will be delivered on 18, 25 May and 15 June   Online 10.30am - 12.30pm with a 15 minute break

22 June   - Online microteaching assessment 10.30am - 12.30pm. As part of your assessment you are required to plan and deliver a recorded 15 minute teaching session.

Over the three days, you will be taken through the full process of teaching and training - known as the training cycle.  We have designed activities to help you think about how you teach and practical activities that will help improve your delivery.  Sessions will include everything you need to know to deliver your micro-teaching assessment, with opportunities to practice online teaching tools.

Sessions cover:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a teacher

  • Barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these

  • The learning cycle and learning styles

  • Session Plans and Schemes of Work

  • Assessment types and methods

  • Resources for supporting teaching and training sessions

"I liked the informal approach to this session, which I think helped with it being the first (and therefore 'icebreaker') session; I think it set a nice tone for the training going forward" Emma Kelly

Please note: This course is aimed at those working in the voluntary and community sector in NI.
