City Church Belfast

City Church Belfast

We are a church in Inner South Belfast who passionately believe in social justice and in making a positive impact on our community: the Holyland and wider Belfast, by addressing poverty and encouraging social inclusion and cohesiveness.

We strive to be a church community that is welcoming to everyone - encouraging all to follow Jesus in a world where so many values and lives seem broken. Through passionate worship, biblical teaching, intentional discipleship we aim to create an environment where the spirit of God can inspire us to aim higher, go deeper and see amazing things happen in our city and beyond.

Services

  • We run a free debt advice service called Christians against Poverty (CAP) that covers the South & West area of Belfast that has seen many families and individuals go debt free.
  • We have the local community accessing our building throughout the week from craft groups, Friendship club to resident & PACT meetings.
  • We run a cafe, Common Grounds (set up as a separate business) based on ethical fairtrade, thinking globally but acting locally by giving its profits away to selected charities each year and providing volunteering opportunities to refugees & asylum seekers. We also run a weekly kids club, children's community choir and parent & toddlers group.
  • We have a community garden that produces organic fruit and vegetables, with local volunteers from Belfast and the refugee & asylum seeker community.
  • We are involved in Street Pastors that go out every weekend to help young people keep safe when they are out late at night in the city centre.
  • We are actively involved in the Lower Ormeau & Botanic consortium, Creating Cohesive Community projects and Active Citizens programme.
  • Providing basic support and signposting for members of the community as well as opportunities to come together.
