Established in early 1980s providing community development support to local organizations.
Founded in the Glens of Antrim and has developed over the years to cover the three council areas of - Causeway Coast & Glens, Mid & East Antrim and Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Councils
The primary aims of North Antrim Community Network are to offer a community development service to it’s member groups and to focus on the practice of networking to allow community groups themselves to share knowledge and experience.The Network aims to provide an opportunity for rural communities to have a voice and an influence, without compelling members to lose their chosen identity, adherence and different interests.
Services
When you become a member of the Network you can avail of the following services:
- The Network has a small number of staff which can offer your group comprehensive support and advice on setting up and or reviewing the operations of your organization
- Assist your group with project development which can include guidance on fundraising, action planning and grant applications. Access can be provided to GrantTracker
- Invites to Networking events, which are held throughout the year providing an opportunity to learn and share ideas from similar organizations
- Access to small grant programmes that are delivered to the community sector in the network area
- Copy of the Network’s Bulletin Board
- Priority access to training workshops and events, such as best practice visits organised by NACN
- Priority access to our Community Survey service, providing questionnaire design, data input and analysis
- Representation of the community sector at a regional and local level
- Policy Consultation
- Group facilitation
- Forum for consultation
