Omagh Ethnic Communities Support Group

Omagh Ethnic Communities Support Group

The Omagh Ethnic Communities Support Group (OECSG) was established in 1998 in
response to the growing number of minority ethnic communities coming to live
and work in the Omagh area. Emphasis has been placed on ensuring that genuine
integration is achieved between the local community and those coming to live
in our midst, while at the same time encouraging our new neighbours to share
their traditions and cultures.

* To develop and improve the quality of life of the different minority
ethnic communities living within the Omagh District Council area.
* To identify individuals/groups needs and to address these needs.
* To provide capacity training to individuals and groups.
* To develop health programmes and organize social events and activities to
ease isolation and loneliness.
* To increase employability prospects through training and support

We will continue to encourage participation and integration of our members
into the wider local community, with the aim of enhancing their quality of
life, regardless of age and cultural background.
