Tyrone Donegal Partnership

Tyrone Donegal Partnership

Tyrone Donegal Partnership, established in 1996, is a successful cross-border, not-for-profit organisation which aims to contribute to the improvement of the social and economic conditions, primarily in the counties of Tyrone, Donegal & the adjacent area.

Tyrone Donegal Partnership is primarily a development company which commenced as an Integrated Partnership to deliver International Fund for Ireland Wider Horizons Programmes. It was strengthened by its engagement on a wider range of EU Funded programmes, from the Special European Union Programmes Body for Peace and Reconciliation and the EU Interreg II and III programmes.

The goal is to help improve employment opportunities for young people by providing training, accredited qualifications, work experience and personal development both at home and abroad. The programmes are broken down into three phases:

Pre-Departure is the first stage where home based training and team building (including residentials in outdoor pursuits centres) take place. Qualifications include IT/Computer training, First Aid, Heath & Safety, Personal Development and many other qualifications depending on which programmes. This usually lasts around 10-14 weeks. Travel expenses are paid and Host Family Accommodation is provided for those who travel to our training centres.

The Overseas Phase takes place in Canada, Spain or the USA. All expenses are paid including flights, accommodation and social activities. Participants will undertake work experience and further training.

During the Return Phase participants will finish their qualifications and complete their CV’s, practice interview techniques and prepare for entry into employment or further education.
