Reaching Out: About the programme

Reaching Out: About the programme

The programme helps build capacity of organisations and supports the effective delivery of their ROCOP projects.

The programme was launched in June 2010 to make grants to voluntary and community led organisations and partnerships. There was a total fund available of £20 million.

The programme funds projects to enable older people at risk of exclusion or isolation to lead fuller, connected lives as valued members of their community. It focuses on older people who could be perceived as ‘hard to reach’.

NICVA provides training and support to grant holders to develop the skills of their volunteers, committee members and staff. Training needs analysis are carried out with all grant holders and from this bespoke training programmes and courses are developed to meet the needs identified. Some of training provided includes governance training, leadership and management, engaging with the hard to reach and tender commissioning.

Training is delivered through a training calendar, through one to one support sessions and by delivering tailored bespoke sessions.
