Feeling overwhelmed by soaring energy bills? Too overwhelmed to think about the climate crisis? On 8th September, NICVA held a special event to help voluntary and community organisations meet both of these big challenges.

The event brought together speakers from NICVA, Action Renewables, and the National Lottery Community Fund to help build understanding of what you and your organisation can do to keep energy costs down and reduce your carbon emissions to help tackle climate change.

NICVA's Geoff Nuttall presented 'NICVA’s Net Zero journey so far' - an overview of the steps NICVA has taken since 2019 to become more environmentally sustainable whilst also reducing costs.  Dawn Murphy of Action Renewables provided a wealth of information and advice on how organisations can save money and carbon, and Mark Creaney of the National Lottery Community Fund gave vital insights into how the Fund is making it a key requirement that funding applicants can demonstrate how they are addressing environmental sustainability as well as outlining how the Fund can support organisations in doing this.
