EQIAs

With the 2024-25 Budget announced by the Finance Minister on the 25th April 2024, Government Departments are consulting on the potential equality impacts of their proposed Budget allocations.

The 2024-25 Budget provides the Resource and Capital investment funding allocations to departments for the 2024-25 financial year.

A number of Departments have undertaken Equality Impact Assessments (EQIAs) examining options for reductions and the potential impact to people in Section 75 categories of those decisions on the services and supports that Departments provide.

The following EQIAs are currently out for consultation:

The Department welcomes comments on any potential equality implications arising from the 2024-25 Budget and will consider whether any further mitigating actions can be implemented in light of responses received during the consultation. To facilitate this consideration early responses would be appreciated.

Interested parties are encouraged to make responses or contact the Department with any queries. Responses on the consultation are due by 3 September 2024, which will used to inform the Department’s allocation of 2024-25 funds.

Responses received by 9 July 2024 will be used to inform the Department’s final opening resource and capital budget decisions for 2024-25. Any further consultation responses received after this date will be used to inform further mitigation measures and reallocation of any additional funding available during 2024-25.
