The submission reflects the views of NICVA members, analysis from the voluntary and community sector, and feedback gathered at our sector-wide Budget Engagement Session held during the consultation period.

In the response, NICVA raises concerns about the viability, transparency, equality impacts and long-term sustainability of the budget as presented. It highlights the significant pressures facing the voluntary and community sector, which employs over 50,000 staff and supports more than 200,000 volunteers across around 7,000 organisations.

The response also outlines concerns about the level of detail available for scrutiny, the potential equality impacts identified in the draft budget documentation, and the implications for services delivered by the voluntary and community sector.

The submission includes a series of recommendations to the Department of Finance and the Northern Ireland Executive regarding the final budget decisions.
